This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Motorola radio programming along with a minimum of three (3) years in programming secure encryption keys. Additionally, knowledge is required to understand & operate a KVL4000 or better along with being able to perform operations within the KMF (Key Management Facility) server. This position requires having knowledge with Motorola CPS programming software to program APX and XTL series two-way radios. This position works with other deployed technicians who are trained to operate as the Remote Technicians for the remote deployment. As part of the function to deploy code-plugs, a CPS programmer must have the knowledge to operate Radio Management Server software that allows code-plug deployment either by Over-the-Air (POP25) or by Remote Technician Deployment. A programmer must have the capability to operate a KMF (Key Management Facility) and KVL (Key Variable Loader) in order to program various encrypted algorithm keys into any two-way radio. The CPS Programmer position is responsible for the creation, maintenance and deployment of an agency’s two-way radio code-plug series utilized for daily communication operations.
